The old Mk 1 Zeus was the bomber workhorse of the Confederate fleet for nearly two decades, but unfortunately just could not keep up with the constant improvements to warhead technology and was unfortunately phased out for the nowhere near as effective UCB-4 Hera. However a young up and coming engineer proposed an innovative solution to get the old Zeus back into the fleet, her proposition was to replace the standard warhead racks with mission tailor able removable warhead racks, allowing the Zeus to not only swap mission roles rapidly, but also re arm far faster then possible. With this solution in place a massive conversion program was begun on every old Mk 1 the Confederacy could find as factories were converted to once again produce the Zeus in its new variant. More daring pilots have recently discovered that by tinkering with the release systems the can release the entire warhead rack mid-flight, leaving the entire thing to tumble into the hostile target and produce and tremendous explosion, however Fleet Command has frowned on this tactic thus far.
