During the Europan wars Confederate fleet command very quickly released a fleet of just Fenris and strikecraft wasn’t going to cut it, they commissioned Project Heracles from CARA. However as the looses in the campaign mounted command could not wait for the design teams to finish and so several half complete Fenris spaceframes were quickly converted, additional armour was strapped on and the refuelling and pilot exchange ports were stripped out. Additional weapon systems were crammed in and the stopgap warships were sent off to the frontline. These hasty designs did remarkably well, to the point that the design was formalised into the Leviathan, a variant CL 1with a much great capacity to give and take damage, but at a cost of some speed and being unable to refuel strikecraft. Leviathans today serve as heavyduty escorts and guards at high security fleet complexes, and given their armament of six medium pulse batteries, a fore beam cannon, a ventral missile pod and four rear anti fighter beam cannons they serve admirably.
