A1 'Inevitability'
- (Class U) Barren Planet
If not for the unusual flare activity of Hunger, Inevitability would eventually develop life of its own. The flares, however, play havoc with the ionosphere of Inevitability, resulting in its surface being regularly bombarded by lethal cosmic radiation. There is evidence, however, that during lulls in flare activity, life has taken root. Subterranean caverns show evidence of pre-technological civilisations that worshipped Hunger as a devouring god, who would consume the world with flames if it was not appeased.
- Survey Team Note: While our radiation shielding can protect outposts on this world, the lack of local food supplies and the lethal effects of a shield failure mean this world is not viable for colonisation.
A2 'Doom'
- (Class U) Barren Planetoid
There is nothing of interest on this ball of rock, other than evidence that the flare activity of Hunger has scoured its surface several times during the last few million years.
A3 'Silence'
- (Class U) Gas Giant
Silence is a gas giant of average size and normal composition. It is of value for refuelling operations, but otherwise unremarkable. There is evidence that a solar flare from Hunger reached the world approximately five hundred thousand years ago, causing severe surface weather disruption that persists to this day.
